Hello,
I have a set of 2009 mavic crossrides that are going strong bought them back in the spring when i started commuting seriously. I currently have some very square continental sport contact tyres on there which are well past the end of their life!!
The current tyres are 1.5 wire which is the minimum suggested for these wheels my friend has offered me a set of all weather slicks which are 1.3 and ive been looking at the continental gt's which are 1.1
can i put tyres with a smaller profile on these wheels? do any of you do it? have you had any problems with it?

Depending upon whether you've got the UB, Disc or UB / Disc version of the wheel the internal width is either 17mm or 19mm. Either way I'd be happy going down to 23mm and below on them (I assume the figures you are giving are widths in inches).Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX
Race - Fuji Norcom Straight
Sun - Cervelo R3
Winter / Commute - Dolan ADX0 -
i have no idea what the widths are in but 11/2 inches makes sense for the tyre width, ive got the disk only version with spline disk fittings. i guess at this moment in time i get the tape measure out and man up i will know if there not fat enough!!!0
