Hi everyone!
I'm totally new to mountain biking being recently converted from being an all out roadie. I rode my first red xc route today in the forest of dean! It was great, loved every minute of it, a few scary moments but on the whole had a great time. My question is how much can i really do on the bike i have? It's a cannondale trail sl5 hardtail. Now i'm not talking about 30ft jumps and downhill competions here but i would like to try a bit of mild downhilling if you know what i mean?? Do u think my bike would be up to this?
Thanks, Jason

In a word no. It is not suitable for big drops or jumps. But if you ride the obstacles slowly, and carefully, and avoid the big trips then it (and you) will survive.
It is an XC bike really.0
