I am about to buy my first pair of road shoes and I have a question about the cleats. Do they come with the shoes or pedals? Or do I have to buy them seperately?

Cheers

cleats come with the pedals. Once they've worn out, you can then buy them seperately.

My shoes (Specialized something or other) came with them in the box.

How did they know which pedals you had ?

Yeah, kinda curious which type were in there. You used to get cleats for the old style "clips and strapes" type of pedals, but haven't seen anything like that with a pair of shoes for years.

I use Shimano MTB type pedals, so I assume that the cleats for those are so cheap that they can lob em with the shoes and hope they're ok. They are.

I also use SPD pedals and cleats with road shoes (R060 and RW80s) and although they may be cheap to make, they all want £13 to £15 for a pair, which seems excessive!
