Getting into this!

Hi everyone,

just a quick one to introduce myself, I'm Scott and I am just really starting to get into road cycling properly.

I used to cycle allot of off-road stuff but since going to University I have been out of the saddle for around 3 years - however at the weekend I completed a rather short charity bike ride with my Rugby club - it was 55 miles from Brighton Pier to Portsmouth Pier - I thoroughly enjoyed it and am dying to do it again... think I may have the bug!

I have been looking around for cheap-ish bikes as I am on a student budget... I have come across two possibilities at the moment and was just wondering if I could get some thoughts on what is the better bike from the two, or value for money...

I am 6' 5" so I believe that frame size is an important factor in choosing my bike, so I am looking at around a 60" frame...

I have considered 2nd hand but cannot seem to find anything that fits the bill at the moment.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on any aspect of riding or any advice you may have for someone on my position.

Thanks allot,

Scott.

My advice would be because of your size get the b'Twin. It appears to have stronger 32 spoke wheels as opposed to the other bikes wheels which I suspect may not last long under your weight. Personally I would be patient and wait for a good second hand. You'll get a better equipped and more durable bike for the same money.

Don't get a 60" frame or the bikes going to be almost as tall as you!

Sorry, I had to say it before someone else did. I assume you mean 60cm.
