Thinking about removing my traditional brakes and putting two bmx style brackes either side of the stem.
Anyone else done this or are there better solutions.

Currently riding fixed.

you mean the levers, not the brakes? yes you can do this, lots of hipsters do.
  • you changing / changed the bars aswell? dont really see a benefit otherwise. spend most of my time on the hoods / drops on mine so levers are in a good position.

if its just for looks, then won't be a problem to do, will just need to re wrap bars, replace levers cut down outers etc.

Check bar / brake clamp diameters - road bars are 22mm diameter whereas most MTB/BMX levers are 19.8mm so they won't fit without modification. Best solution is a pair of cyclo-cross secondary levers or a pair of Dirty Harry levers or similar
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
