Chain connector question

A typical newbie question but here goes.

I run a basic Shimano CS-HG53 108 link 9 speed chain and am looking to buy a SRAAM Powerlink or something similar, to make removing my chain for cleaning etc. easier.

Am I right in thinking the Powerlink is compatible with this chain, or should I be looking at say a KMC chain connector or something different?

CRC are selling 3 9-speed gold Powerlinks for £3.99 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=871 and a single KMC one for £3.99 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25439

Any views gratefully received

as long a the spd is correct they generally work fine.

    Shimano even make their own.

Shimano did 10 speed quick links, but they were rubbish, so they stopped. They've not done a 9 speed one, so either the KMC or SRAM ones will be fine!

fit the link so that the fixed pin is the frist part of the link when it goes over the sprockets.

i.e. sitting on the seat and looking from above, the fixed pin is at the front and on the inside of the chain.

The Sram ones tend to be stiff to fit (not a big issue, will click under power) but stiff to very stiff to remove without the proper tool so bear in mind.

KMC may appear to be frightfully loose and easily removable but don't go anywhere in use. So may be more suited to frequent removal for cleaning, something I know absolutely nothing about :?

    Dunno the others.
