Saw a cyclist sitting on the road looking very pissed off , his bike a few yards away .

looks like a small van tried to overtake him here ...

I always take the primary position coming past these bollards as i know only to well how traffic can try and squeeze by you .

Get well soon !!!

I have learnt a LOT from the proper cyclists here since joining this site.

Not riding near the edge of the road or in the gutter as you would say, I now ride 18" or so out and thanks to the advice here it is amazing I have NOT been carved up since.

Also I now move out well before parked cars whereas before I was constantly pushed to stop and wait for a break in the cars to go, and I too now from advice on this site move out a little more when coming to bollards such as these and no longer fear being forced over as the cars have to wait until I am past the bollards.

See, us 50+ new riders DO listen to you younger proper cyclists.

    Thank you.

I know that stretch very well (lived in the Briz Valley for some years!) I always pull slightly out at pinch points like that. It stops all but the terminally stupid from trying to get past, but I always do a shoulder check as I approach one as well.

(Incidentally, that hill further on, past Bretby Golf club is a cow, but worth it as the next stretch down to the old Burton Bridge is where I got pulled by the Police for speeding. 52/11 FTW :D )
