Budget steel frame

It is time to get a new frame for my winter training bike. My old one is really wearing out (derailleur hanger just broke of - chinese made MBK :? ). I think I would prefer to continue with steel and if possible with clearance enough for at least 32mm tyres. Cross frames might be an idea but I don't really fancy canterliever brakes. The Guerciotti Record at TotalCycling has a very attractive price, is this a good frame? Advice and links are appreciated.

They are nice frames, but pretty heavy due to the Columbus Thron tubes - I doubt however that it will have the clearances for 28mm+ tyres - suggest you look for an Audax / touring frame with bigger clearances if that's important.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

The cheapest steel frame you can get has to be the Planet x Kaffenback. It also has clearence for 32mm tyres

You can't go wrong with a Surly Pacer http://surlybikes.com/frames/pacer_frame/
It'll take 32mm tyres or 28mm with mudguards, easily.0 -

How about Bob Jackson. http://www.bobjacksoncycles.co.uk/produ ... ucts_id=44 Takes 32c tyres without mudguards and made with 631 reynolds steel which is lighter and IMO gives a more lively ride than cheaper steels.0

I think I'll go for this one

I just discovered the travel agent that makes it possible to use regular V-brakes on a cross bike.I found a reasonable price at a Swedish online retailer.___________________________0 -
Salsa Casserolle is also decent value (£425) and can take 32c tyres and guards with caliper brakes. A bit lighter than the Crosscheck.0

Does it have to be a frame? How about one of these bad boys?
