Just taken some updated photos for my records

First up, my sons new 2011 Giant XTC Advanced SL frameset built up with his existing parts. This will be his new XC race bike for next season

And this is the bike I use to try and keep up with him when we ride together - a 2009 Whyte 19 race upgraded with XTR and Crossmax SLR's. Its far too good for me but is lovely to ride

  • I love those whytes, the giants not to bad either :).
  • Both stunning 8)

Think I prefer the looks of the Whyte though.
  • Lovely looking whyte. All of their bikes are beautiful to look at!

Nice stands as well, i've got the same ones here! Quite handy and cheap!

The whyte is definately working the looks fast standing still thing!!

Both look good, but the colour scheme looks spot on on the Whyte.

Yeah and me. The XTR wheels go with the frame a treat.

Thanks for all the positive comments - my son and I have had some good sport reading this thread

The Giant gets its first run out tomorrow at Cannock - lets hope it rides as well as it looks.

The Crossmax SLR's are a stunning wheelset and would make any bike but the XTR wheels are a GREAT match for the 2011 Giant frameset. Despite this, I expect the lad will want to race on the SLR's......

I liked the look of the Whyte as soon as I saw it and fortunately for me, I got a good deal on one in late 2009. The only I thing I would change now are the cranks - I wish Shimano would look at a BB30 chainset. I may look at fitting an adaptor in time so that I can have my XTR cranks back

    Cheers
