how many different size disc rotors can u buy?

hi all
i would just like to know what is the smallest size rotor and what is the biggest rotor u can buy and as im looking for answers lol and some 1 knows how many different sized rotors there are.hope this question doesnt sound to insane and sorry for my spelling.

Smallest is 140mm and biggest is 220mm I think

Depends, there are all sorts of odd sizes made to fit different brake/fork combos. Hope XC4s used to come in 130mm on the rear. You can get some 230mm brakes, and there's a huge number of sizes in between.

Common ones are 140 (rear only), 160, 180 and 203.

then you have some odd ones like 170 (some Clarkes)

and the inperial speced ones 6"/7"/8" ( wich equate to some of the mm versions

The ones the others have mentioned are all the sizes but generally for XC to trail work a 180mm rotor at the front and 160mm at the rear works well. Anything more than a 160mm rotor at the back and the wheel will just lock straight away. As most of the braking is done by the front there is a bigger rotor at the front.

Maybe for you light boys!! But some of us slightly heavier guys need a 180mm on the rear to help slow us down!

I'm only 14 but 5ft 6" so not that bad really. But believe me I eat, my mates eat half what i eat, literally.

I'm pretty much identical by the sounds of it, and I run a 203 at the front, mainly cause I CBA to change it

Really, thats the same size as the rear disc on this :shock:
