I'd focus on riding it and getting yourself to be a better rider. Or run some erands on it to earn some csh for upgrades.0

So you want to make it lighter, but have no parts?
It's a bike, it's going to require new parts to make it lighter. Self evident.0 -
Naaa the heaviest component is the rider, just get off your bike and push it down the hill. If I was to do this the bike would weigh 11st less!!
you don't have many options to modify a bike without putting in some finances mate. Lower your saddle, rotate your bars a little... is about all you can do to alter the way the bike rides without buying new things.
Lighter tyres and wheels is the first thing to do to any first bike.0 -
take your grips off and let some air out of the tyre..... that'll make it weigh way less.0

no pedals is always a winner with me, pedals are over rated0

Just having fun with it really :P0 -
If you sell the bike, you don't have to worry about the weight anymore. And you've got cash.0

Take the brakes off, it'll definitely weigh less and won't go any slower...
Sorry mate, you're getting crappy answers because you haven't explained yourself very clearly.
Apart from what has already been mentioned (tyre pressures, seat height, bar angle etc.)you can only change things on your bike if you have replacement parts.
Give us a better idea of your situation and what you want to achieve. Then perhaps a budget and an idea of the kind of riding you do.XC: Giant Anthem X
Fun: Yeti SB66
Road: Litespeed C1, Cannondale Supersix Evo, Cervelo R5
Trainer: Bianchi via Nirone
Hack: GT hardtail with Schwalbe City Jets0 -

Not true dear Boxy... he could also change what he is riding upon... say, if he was to ride on the moon the bike would weigh a lot less! His problem is a geographical one, not a replacements parts one
(Lots of editing, really fluffed that post up)0 -
If you leave the bike long enough it will slowly decompose and in the end weigh nothing. So the longer you wait the lighter it will become. Sorted.0

If you leave it locked up in chav central other people will help you to get the bikes weight down until eventually... it weighs nothing :shock:0

Take your ass off it. That might make it lighter0

Take front forks off with wheel still attached. stick saddle on top the forks, attach pedals crank arms etc to the hub and hey presto much lighter.pain is weakness leaving the body...0
