Palisades Trail v. Whyte 805

My brother is looking into getting a bike on C2W, and these are the two best options that have been give to him by his work (as far as I know). So which would you go for out of these two:

Marin Palisades Trail

or

Whyte 805

Personally I would say the Whyte, But I'm not too hot on the new 2011 forks and other bits, so not really sure which is better. Plus the Whyte looks nicer ;)

What do you think?

    I'm afraid I don't have any advice on this one. Was just wondering if your bro got the Whyte as I'm looking into getting the 901 which is quite similar, how does he find the 805?

    i'd go with the whyte.

    Things must be getting tough if a £900 bike comes with Alivio bits but I prefer the rest of the spec to the Marin.
