Greenwich Foot Tunnel....

I don't know whether the lift's been mended yet but the Tunnel was shut at about 2pm today. Looks like a lift failure at the Greenwich end - there was an Otis van outside. So, while it may be open again, you might want to consider Tower Bridge or the Woolwich Ferry just in case. (Woolwich Foot Tunnel is also out of action, BTW.)

I'll nip back out in half-an-hour and report back whether it's opened again.

    Cheers, that's very public spirited of you.

    I must admit I've given up on the tunnel as it's just too unreliable (how incompetent do you have to be to make a foot tunnel unreliable!). Plus the SCR is better on Jamaica Rd anyway!
