Hi all,

Anyone recommend a turbo trainer routine for a beginner?

I bought the Crono Fluid Turbo Trainer since on certain days my time is limited by lectures and commitments.

Looking for about 45minute routine that will increase my fitness and allow me to push further when I do get out on the road at weekends.

Cheers.

try going to turbotraining.co.uk ive just started using some of the programmes on there before using the Peter Read book.

It would be difficult to suggest a specific programme im guessing due to a number of factors. Try the site and see how it goes

    10mins progressive warmup.
30mins between 95-105% FTP (depending on how strong you feel).
    5 mins cool down.

I doubt you'd find anything else that would be as effective for general cycling fitness in a 45 min session.

Dig out £7 from behind the sofa and then go to http://www.thesufferfest.com/ and buy a download. Good routines and a little more motivational than an inteval list stuck to your handlebars.

    +1

Chasing Cancellara up the road in a time trial or trying to catch Evans on a hill sure beats looking at a list taped to the bars.

Have a look at this site, click on the 'Find a Plan' section, there's loads of plans to chose from.

    http://www.turbotraining.co.uk/

I run two screens on my pc at home, so I put the training plan on one, so I can keep an eye on the timer and section of the plan, and I put iplayer on teh other screen so I can watch some tv whilst riding.

    Works a treat.
