Oakley Radar - pitch or path?

I've just tried on some Oakley Radar sunnies down the local bike shop, and preferred the fit of the 'pitch' over the 'path' model. There is a bit more lense coverage, and they seemed a bit more comfortable fit.

Having just looked on bikeradar, I see that the reviews are for the path model, not the pitch model that I preferred.

Does anyone know if the path model is more "cycling specific"? Am I missing something here?

The reason I ask is that I don't want to waste around £100 that could be 'golf specific' - it's against my religion........

Thanks......

I guess it depends on your face shape, Pitch suits me over Path also. It's only the lens shape that's different. All three lens are cycling specific, the rest ie what lens is personal.

inadventent purchase of golf related paraphernalia is indeed to be avoided

the pitch/path/range lenses all fit the same frame, so you can always add other lenses/shapes later

just choose what fits you best

It's just the shape of the lens same as the mframes had heater/sweep/hybrid etc. Same material, colour etc

I thought as much, but was concerned that I would have to start practicing a golf swing whilst walking around the office. Not so.....

    Thanks for the advice.

Recently got a pair of radar range glasses custom colours.

If you are going for custom ones then the cheapest I found was surffusion.co.uk
If standard then oakley-vault.co.uk or eyewearoutlet.co.uk

You can also get golf-specific Path as well :D

I went to the Oakley store at the weekend. I'm also looking at getting some Radar Paths but I can't decide on the colour scheme. (Won't be getting them from the Oakley store tho - they offered me a "special discount" on a pair of £220 glasses, and said I could have them for £200. The same glasses are £167 in the LBS.

Are you completely sure that they are exactly the same? The lenses can affect the price of oakleys significantly even though the frames are the same. Polarised and Iridium (mirrored) lenses are more expensive than standard lenses.

Yes, they are polarized iridium. RRP is £220. Cyclestore have them for £167 http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDeta ... ctID=15736

There is a limited edition pair of white radar/jade iridium for £160 in the Oakley store and same glasses are £120 at above store.

Okay, just checking. I thought I was getting a bargain a few years ago with some ski goggles but the cheaper ones weren't iridium so now I always double check the lenses.

I've got the Pitch glasses. However I wish I had bought the Range ones as they look much better.
The Pitch are a bit boring !
