Well finally got round to the downhill bike build after being side tracked by the 456 Summer Season
So here is the frame I got for £650


And some bits to go on it


I'll put this on as well

Looks good, but man alive, that rear shock link is just bonkers.
Looks like there were two designers, one who designed a simple single pivot DH frame, and forgot to design in a way of mounting and activating the shock, then another who was lumbered with the task of jerry-rigging in a shock

Wheel set got made up by Stiff - Nice job they made too.

Syncros 32 on Hope pro 2with black spokes?

Forks Boxxer Teams merlin have them for 599 at the mo
chain set well cranks as above piccys the raceface evolve single crank and probably paired up with a sram redwin cassette from crc who have them for £42

Still work to do on it yet. Going to get a red one piece crown from Hope and some White gear cable outer. The front brake hose needs to be lengthened. The seat needs replacing as I'd previously bent the rails.
Biult it up as I wanted to get an idea of the bits that need fettling,as well as sizing.

Could be a long wait! Only got the front one today and it needs a longer hose putting on.

The bike is probably not going to be ridable till mid Jan when I get back from work to sort it out fully, indexing, brake hose, chain tensioner etc. little things but with Xmas shopping tomorrow the back to work on Monday I won't get a chance till then ...so frustrating

Either way it is good motivation to keep on chuggin and push through the crappy winter months!

Bike is coming together absolutely lovely.

Well it's now Complete although there is the front Formula brake being sorted at the LBS so I have put a SLX on for the purposes of riding it before I go back to work.

Those rims were chosen since I have the ds28 rims on the Enduro and haven't managed to ding those in the peaks or the alps.

Pretty good though I need to have it somewhere steeper than my local trails to get it properly sorted . I'm going to Wharncliffe on Friday to give it a decent thrashing.

Changed the disks to Red floating Hopes and finally got the front brake -so it now has Formula The Ones front and back UMMMMM Stopalicios
Piccys when I get back home.
