Apparently the battery life is poor, the range isn't great, and it's quite laggy.

And you need an iPhone to use it, limiting it to bellends only.

    An iPhone only toy?
    How disappointing.

And once you stop looking at the pictures and work out that the letters make words and sentences, you may note this:

Thanks to its on-board Wi-Fi system, you can control the Parrot AR.Drone using an iPhone®, iPod Touch®, or an iPad®. It was initially designed for the Apple platforms and will be also available on other platforms in the next few months.

So, all you Sony, Blackberry and Nokia lovers will soon be able to spy on your neighbours too...

If it works via WiFi, why not just make it work from any WiFi laptop?

    Flying cameras are awesome.
    Check out this video:

Freecaster only needs a few of these to follow the riders on the whole track.

Can't quite see the video properly at work here (getting internet via NX).
Is that the Eos5D on a helicopter thing?

In which case, although it's a neat idea, it would be impractical for freecaster to cover live events, as there's no way of getting the feed from the camera to the "scanner" in real time.
(apart from the overheating, limited recording time and all the other associated problems that nobody wants to mention at the moment, seems to be a kind of Eos video love-in going on)

No, Sheeps, they're taking videos WITH an Eos, whereas they're taking videos OF your balls.

this is true, thing is they are taking the pictures from space with a 5x optical zoom, they are that juicy this is easily done, even without an Eos.

Hmm, funny. I thought they'd use a wide angle to get it all in.
