Dilema. Been offered both frames at good prices, both in mint/ almost as new condition. Which one would be most suited to crits, or generally the best frameset out of the two for race perfromance?

Cheers for advice!

You are correct Sir! And i'm looking at getting another to build up with a lower spec to crit on. For the price and condition its been offered to me, it is a great deal and one that I wouldnt mind so much if it got a bit foobard over the next 2 seasons.

I can only describle it as a stiff, smooth and great ride!

The questions were aimed toward whether people who are more in the know than me on these frames thought the PX was better, stiffer, more responsive, better race performer than the CR1 pro. Before I go and spend any of my very hard earned cash!

So you don't mind spending money on building up a completely new bike, but you don't want to race the one you already have, in case you have to spend money on replacing parts in a crash which may never happen...?

Forgive me if I'm completely missing your logic here.....

    You are correct again sir!

I'd like one to stay my Sunday best lets say: Sportives, Good weather club rides, last me a long time bike...

and the other to be my race workhorse, wet, dry, cold, dirt, winter, spring, summer, autumn, low cost groupset and parts, mid range wheels, might get crashed, might not.

Surely the logic is not too mind bending to grasp. I have 2 bikes at the mo. A Giant TCR All year round trainer. And a high specced out CR1 Pro.
I am absolutely positive that you know more people than me that own more more bikes for more occasions.
How many road bikes do you own, I bet 3 or more. A hack of sorts/training/commuting bike. Your race bike, if you race and maybe something special.

Reverting back to the original post. Damaging the frameset was not just my issue it was the also the the effects and wear and tear a few seasons worth of heavy racing would do to everything else, which is way more expensive put together than the frame.

Hope that makes sense? Am I that crazy? Maybe so? going off the people I know, Im not.

Assuming you do one race a week of 40 miles for the entire season that'd only come to about 1000 miles. Not exactly heavy use?

Personally all my bikes are for riding, not poncing around on. I won't ride my best bike through the winter once the roads get gritted, but apart from that I'll ride it any time, including racing.

Different strokes for different folks! Not everyone is the same and thank god they arn't.
lol at the poncing comment . . . What defines poncing? 100 miles plus/per day??? Was that comment really needed?

I love the responses people give that instantly give the thread the kiss of death due to unrelated anwers. I see so many posts about specification and performance questions from people who want to learn more asked to people who may own/have owned/ or know about the make and models in question crushed and made to look inferior. This usually results in the thread creator being bombarded with reply's from people who are more concerned with the Phsycology behind their buying habits than tryng to help with the origianl question.

For the purpose of this particular thread. It doesn't and shouldn't matter if I owned 50 CR1's. My question was not, should I buy another frame? If I wanted to know the answer to that, I'd ask my partner, to which she would reply NO... Loudly!

It was which is the better frameset to crit race on based on readers opinions? I have not wrtitten the above in any any anger or with intent to offend, I just find some of the questions highly irrelavent. My race calender for example; I race twice a week and TT once on the road biike. How is that relavent to the queston asked? It's not!

Thanks to those who do wish to add positive comments that can help.

You've already got a Nanolight, but you'd get another one just for racing on?
