Sometimes it just pays to be in tesco at the right time.
Up at the fish counter "can i have that whole salmon please, oh and can you fillet it for me?"
" I'm very sorry sir but the fishmonger has gone home and i've never filleted a salmon before, so wouldn't want to make a mess of it. But let me see what i can do about the price for you"
It was already half price, the main reason i was buying it.
"How does £8.67 sound sir?"
"Sold"
Once i'd filleted and pin boned it.
Got 14 good sized steaks out of them, deal of the week if i do say so myself.

Cheers sheeps, actually the first time i've filleted a salmon, only had about a half cup of wasteage near the tail, that the dog was more than happy to scoff.Never argue with an idiot, he'll only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.0

I used to be a fishmonger in Tesco many moons ago, and so I can vouch that you've done a great job on a fantastic deal!It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

£8.67 for a fish? Fook me sideways, the amount of meat you get for that is crazy.
Be a man and fish it yourself with a spear.0 -

I'm gonna assume you dont do much food shopping, and haven't glanced at the price of a prepackaged salomon steak.
And your advice as wonderful as it is is just silly, as it would cost me more in diesel to find a salmon than it cost me to buy the fish.
