My Rockhopper - What Year is it ?

Hi.
Rescued from a dump and returned to rideable, here's my Specialized Rockhopper.
Can anyone please tell me what year it is? It's a UK bike and I changed the bars & clamp but other than that, I think it's all original. It could be 1999 or 2000 but I can't find out anywhere.
It's a great, lightweight frame (How light? does anyone have the weight of it please?) and it rides quite nicely, for an old beaten up scrapper
