I don't think there is any doubt he can probably keep up with the best that Bikeradar has to offer.

However, what is the longest continuous shot in the ad? About 15 metres is my guess.

he had obviously been told that there was a 'contador steak' at the top of the mountain....

either that or the person he was riding with had just had his chain come off!

I think he can ckimb like that for quite a distance, unlike me on the pic below going up the Alpe just before the guy takes the pics :D I stuck my bike in big ring and 17 rear and sprinted to get pic, pnly about 150m then collapsed round the corner after the pic :D well not quite but took me about 5 moreturns to recover :D

contador is definately one of the fastest climbers, but the recent debacle really puts a downer on his abilities.

Andy schleck is a climbing beast as well.

Richard Verenque is a fantastic climber.

i was impressed with luis leon sanchez this year as well, his vuelta climbing performances were awesome.

CERA-powered Ricco attacking on the Col d'Aspin a couple of years ago - jumping off the front of the bunch on the big ring....
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

think armstrong was amazing in his prime in the mountains, contador is class, and schleck is great too. but i think that the best climber (in my lifetime anyway) is pantani.

The film looks as if its been speeded up to be honest, if you look at one of the shots you can see the clouds moving in the shadows and they are going way to fast to be normal.

Best and fastest climber for me was Marco Pantani
  • There's no way the video could have been edited to exaggerate the speed, I'm sure ;)

    +1

Damn, I was going to say the same 2 paragraphs

Yep, it's speeded up and Pantani the Pirate gets my votes.
