DT Swiss XR Carbon Rear Shock on a Santa Cruz Tallboy ???

I'm getting my Dad a Santa Cruz Tallboy and he really loves DT Swiss and since he cant have a pair of DT Swiss forks (DT Swiss dont make any 29er forks) I was going to get him there premium Shock. The Tallboy uses 165mmx38mm shock and the DT Swiss is a 165mmx37.5mm. Would this be alright or would it not fit properly. Also does anyone have any opinions for this shock?
