Blackstone Edge (Druids on the Moors)

I know a few people on this forum cycle around the moors between Rochdale and Yorkshire and wondered if anyone else had spotted druids up there?

Yesterday me and the missus took a quick stroll from the White House car park, up the Roman Road to the trig point at the top. On the way back, around 500 yards from the road we saw a figure dressed in white robes carrying a shepherds crook and standing with arms outstretched towards Huddersfield. We watched for a while and left him too it. As we took our walking boots off in the car park he descended the path, crossed the road and gave a cheery 'Hello' to Mrs Noir. He then got in a hire van and drove off towards Rochdale.

I know what you're thinking; "Been on the sauce, Chris? Magic mushroom season already?" I swear on my dull, uninteresting life I was stone cold sober! Others have seen this too.

Not unless he'd blacked up first. Maybe druids do that...

I'm going to have to plan a club run up there to hunt down some druids.

They would slit you open like an envelope, read your entrails and then reassure you that the volcano in Iceland isnt going to split the World in half.
  • "standing with arms outstretched towards Huddersfield." ! no surprises there then - Huddersfield has always been in need of redemption, from whatever source it comes!!

Im not too sure if they really did sacrifice people, the Romans said they did but they were known to paint the people they conquered as Barbarians so some of it might be a fib. But I do remember Will saying something about his fears for the World due to volcanoes and the like :P

Careful there, he was a strapping six footer - you may find yourself being sacrificed in a stone circle. Or something...
