Leg warmers for the larger man

....actually I'm only 5'8" but have 'velodrome thighs' due to over exuberance in the weights room during my formative years. I have tried a few different types/sizes but the gripper elastic is always too tight and I have to take them off before the blood flow completely stops and I fall off the bike. Anyone with a similar challenge which they have resolved ?
