Ok, I've currently got xt spd's but more and more I'm getting frustrated with starting on hills and sliding off the pedals before I can get going and clip in......
Has anyone tried the new xtr's? Do they give more grip before clipping in? They look like the obvious answer many have been waiting for....???

I have the XTRs on my road bike. They seem very easy to click into but I couldn't say if they were any more grippy to ride with your foot not clipped in.
For that very reason I have half cage spds on my mtb. I have some 540s but haven't fitted them as the half cage pedals work so well.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S
