Nidd Gorge is O.K when it's dryish. Along the old railway line left at the bottom of Bilton lane and then down to the right to Knaresborough along the river over the wooden bridge and there are couple of medium hills.

Apprently Hookstone woods has bits and peices and quite a fun homemade jump park.

I am still exploring myself! So if you find any gems let me know!

    Thanks for the info.

i'll give them ago. If you see a confused person riding around you will know who it is. I'll let you know if I come across anything else.

    Cheers

Had a look at os maps and there appears to be plenty to ride once you get out of the built up areas. If you have a look at "get a map" option on the OS map homepage to get an idea of whats near to you :)
  • I live in Harrogate and spend a lot of time at Stainburn. Definitely has some good climbs and downhills and I would suggest that it will become the mainstay of your riding whilst in Harrogate! If you're looking for any bigger trail centres, you're looking at Guisburn, Dalby, Hamsterley and Lee Quarry really, all just over an hour(ish) away. Also the local area is alright for tame off road adventuring.

I was up in ripon in spring and after a reccomentation by users here went to Nidderdale in the dales (about 12 mi from fountains abby)

Was a fun loop, very rocky, some fun climbs (and great weather the morning i went).
