I have an old deore hollowtech 1 chainset on my bike at the moment that is looking very tired. Im wanting to change the chain set and bottom bracket. Can someone advise me of the tools I would need to remove everything.
The only tools I can find only refer to the hollowtech 2

I'd go deore HTII - 60ish quid for it all.

You need a crank puller (but that's then of not use), neither will the BB tool you'll need to remove the BB.

If you go HTii you need the frame faced and a preload tool and BB tool for HTII - some times they come as one.

It's not worth investing in the tools if you're going to be taking the hollowtech 2 route. You'd be best letting the LBS remove the old one and face the BB whilst they're at it. You can then let fit the new one or get the hollowtech 2 tool for around £8 to install yourself.

it depends on what your set up is. some had self extracting bolts so then a standard BB tool would be all.

see Park tools for more infos.
