Just wondering if anyone has used these? are they any good, do they interfere with the comfort of the helmet??

Any responses would be appreciated. I already run 2 front lights (1 constant, 1 flashing) plus 2 rear light's and reflective detailing on my jacket. A bit of extra lighting wouldn't go amiss.

I'm a fan of helmet lights but not so much the small lights like this (I ride in manchester and have found that smaller lights (I've had a topeak or 2) get lost in the headlight glare and general light pollution)
I run a smart lunar 25 and 1/2 watt rear on the front and back on my helmet. the front one is quite bulky looking but gets me a bit of leeway as it looks like a camera up there but it's not really noticeable when I'm bowling along.
blinking mode up there definitely keeps the give way line creepers in place and people looking to make a right turn across the front of me at bay0 -
One of the lads at work has been riding with an Exposure Joystick, have seen one local guy with a Hope 1 too. Depends how bright and visible verses comfort. Heavier lights are quite bulky but they can be beneficial offroad or unlit lanes.
The rear Knog ones are quite good imo. Very visible without blinding drivers or other cyclists, plus small as it runs off a 3v penny-sized battery0 -
Thanks for the advice fellas.
Will take a look at your recomendations.

The current 'cheap lights' recommendations are (a) a P7 based Magicshine, which is a P7 emitter in a cycle-specific housing, with a 4x18650 cell battery pack - this gives you one bar mounted light with a long burn time for about £50, or (b) a combination of torches from Dealextreme or BestOfferBuy... I have a P7 on my bars and a 501b C1 XRE on my lid which are excellent. For road use, if you are using torches. get a 5 mode P7 (as the LO on a HI/LO 3-mode is a bit dim, and the HI too bright), and get one of the newer XPG based 501b torches. You can get a bar mounted P7 and a XPG for your lid with spare cells, chargers and mounts for about £60.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

ive got myself a joystick, awsome!!! life time investment well worth getting last for ages depending on choices of brightness well worth having and the new 2011 ones have had there lumens upped by about 30-40 lumens so even better to have now! i use it in addition to a toro on the bars for XC racing, road bike stuff and any darkish days otherwise i just use my joystick on flashing in the day just for some extra piece of mind it may just be that thing that saves you life one day!
little things like joysticks dont make too much of a diffrence to the helmet really, slightly heavier but not too bad for me (ive got a super light weight S-works) if you shake you head with the helmet on then it shakes a little more but its far better than any other lights eg hope ones that run off of batteries that strap to your helmet
hope that helps0 -
Yeah, all posts appreciated. Will have a good look at them all. See which fits the bill and wallet the best.
Thanks chaps......0
