Have you registered your interest yet? Oh and make sure that you have a Visa card as thats the only way to pay. I wonder if BOC are sponsoring the air and will we not be allowed to use free air or bring any in with us?

325 quid for a track final?
60 quid to sit near the finish line on the RR/TT?

I have registered with the idea of going to the track and probably the road race. But I'm not sure I can be bothered now. With the changes in the track program, I've pretty much lost interest. Think I'd rather go to see a World Track Champs. And it's the same with the RR, think I'd rather go to the Tour or Paris Roubaix...0

As I said in another thread...
Most sports have ticket prices starting at £20. But they go up significantly.
I'd be surprised if all tickets don't sell out before the start - and let's face it - it's all about making money.
(We, as UK residents, should really want all the expensive tickets to sell out - and to tourists. It's our taxes paying for the Games and we need to make some money back!)
The Olympics are less about the people who actually live in the host country and more about all the people that come from around the world to see them. However, as residents, I think we get first dibs on tix. At least that was the case when I lived in LA back in the 80's when they hosted the summer Games.0 -

European free trade rules mean that any European resident can buy them as soon as they are released, not just UK residents.0 -

Indeed. But it looks like we (the EU) still get priority over everyone else. It's not much - but you can bet there will be a lot of Americans wanting tickets.0 -
I've looked at the prices and am unsure whether I will bother. I've already paid a fair amount for these Olympics, including the extra levy for people in London. The thought of having to potentially pay hundreds of pounds to see something I've effectively already paid for once in taxes is a bit sickening really!0

Doubt I'll ever get the opportunity again, so yeah, I reckon I'll be going. 90% of tickets are under £100 remember, and the road race is free.0

I guess you won't be paying road tax and driving any more then either? As your tax money has already paid for the roads. And so on and so on....
You make it sound like you personally funded the majority of the cost of the Games. Don't forget - we ALL did.0 -
I feel naiive now, I registered my interest for tickets to the track cycling for myself, athletics for the whole family and horsey events for my daughter. It has only just dawned on me that the whole registering process was to guage likely demand in order that they can set the ticket prices higher for the events that would be popular. If only everyone had shown an interest in rythmic gymnastics and table tennis!0

Ticket prices for children up to 16 years old are based on their age for over 200 events.
(e.g. a 9 year pays £9, etc).
Final availability isn't known yet as many venues aren't finished so they don't know exactly how many seats there are for some events!
And for things like the Marathon and cycling (road race), you can still watch for free if you stand at the side of the road.0 -
I signed up my interest on the 1st day for the Track Cycling and Road Race.
Not sure i'll pay for the RR as my plan is to see them go past Richmond Park then sprint down to Surrey Hills to catch them again. Then hopefully make it back to Westminster to catch the last lap., so not too sure if the timings will allow me to make it back to FINISH LINE seats :?:
Are the Track Cycling prices for ALL day tickets or sessions? i.e Morning,Afternoon or Evening??0 -
never mind the cycling , does anybody know how to secure front row seats for the womens beach volleyball on Pall Mall ?0
-
Had a quick look but there doesn't seem to be much to indicate what you will get to see for your money.
If it's £50 just to be in the stadium for the 100m final then sod that, if it's all day in the athletics stadium while various finals are on then £50 is a bargain really.
You can pay that for 2 hours at some football stadiums (ok in much better seats) and how much is a day of Cricket at say Lords?
Oh and of course for me it would mean maybe £140 sleeper tickets and a hotel for a night or 3.
Def want to travel down though, amy just need to pitch a tent somewhere.Do Nellyphants count?
Commuter: FCN 9
Cheapo Roadie: FCN 5
Off Road: FCN 11

Sounds like a plan but you'd probably be more knackered than the athletes haha.
I'd think they will be all day tickets, that would be extortionate for one event.
Tickets are sold for a session not for a whole day0 -
