Hi

This is probably a very silly question. I have a rival 143 saddle on a specialized secteur. I find the saddle to be quite comfortable but I'm getting a bit of back ache and wonder if I have the saddle set dead level. If i put put a spirit level down the middle then it sits in the grove at the back which I'm guessing gives you a wrong reading. I have measured by placing the spirit level to the side at the back and base it on the highest saddle point at the back to the highest point at the front. Does this sound correct?

Something flat that's bigger than your saddle - piece of wood, a hardback book etc - will give you an even surface to use. Put that on your saddle and the spirit level on top of that.

Thank you, never though of that, I will give it a go this weekend.
  • Best to find out how to take it off and throw it away.

My bike came with one of these and it was rubbish, changed for a gel avatar which is a very good seat, had none of the problems I was getting with the rival. :D
