Scotia, 4 routes in 5 days....
..... a bit of a marathon, for me anyway.
I'm 55 years of age now and nearly that in inches round the moobs, so I knew it was going to be a bit of a challenge. I'd noticed the Rhenigidale trail 20 years ago, when I was touring and stayed at the youth hostel there, but never got round to exploring it. I read in MBR in '08 that it was achievable on a mtb, so I thought I'd give it a whirl before I was too old. My daughter was keen to have a go, so we hired a van and last Saturday, away we went. We took in some other trails on the way, Laggan Wolftrax, Learnie red rock, Boreraig on Skye.

ps. by the end of the Boreraig run on the 4th day I was running out of steam, so take my comments with a pinch of salt. With a bit of luck, we'll be finishing the 7stanes before long ( done 2, 5 to go)

thanks Davy, morale has improved
The weather's not so good in Ayr today and our wee local run seems so ordinary too, after the grandeur of the previous week. But must get out, keep the momentum going. We'll be coming down to do another 'stane' next week, probably Ae on Tuesday (done the red routes so far, in Glentrool and Kirroughtree) time and budget is limited, borrowing my wife's car for the day.
ps. Braveheart run next Saturday:
