Just come back. Actually 61 miles, which is 98k woo first 100km (and since I got lost that bumps up another 2km) Each way took 2:35, longer than expected but wanted to go slower and pace myself, especially on the first 30 miles. No problems with that leg. I took a couple of wrong turns,, stopping to check my directions/signs, toilet break, asking people for directions so say 10 mins off that time. Had a apple, 3 bananas, mars bar and a 200g flapjack at half-time.

On the way back, about half way starting to get a little bit tired. 2:35. Weird. Again 10 mins off got lost and took wrong couple of turns.

Didn't want to push myself too hard either way, smooth and steady, done my back and hip in and didn't want to knock that out and be stuck 30 miles from home. Really hurts to walk, but no problems at all with biking.

No backside pain, thanks to the Brooks. Would be in agony with my stock supplied saddle. Bike had a fair bit of weight, one big abus lock, 2 smaller locks, lights, phone, food, water, waterproofs.

I think I could do a bit more 8 miles easily, maybe 30 but I'll be exhausted at the end. But not into that, not fun.

  • a short losener tomorrow then of about 15-20m - I find a light spin the best thing after pushing yourself a day before
