Which bar tape for commuting?

Needs to be padded, and not get soaking when raining. Don't mind if it's not the grippiest as I always wear mitts or gloves. Preferably black.

Any recommendations?

I have charge tape on my commuter (the tan one rather than the black) and it's great. not super spongy but pretty good, however where it does score is durability, it's tough and hasn't unpeeled itself and doesn't get soaked if it rains

Sounds good, is it the Charge U-Bend tape?

I used the Spesh Bar Phat stuff, I think. About £12. Very comfy. Never noticed whether it holds water or not - nothin's prompted me to think that, possibly because my gloves are usually soaked!

Good thread. The tape on the Boardman is going and needs to be replaced soon. I'll have a look for that Spesh stuff. Cheers CJ
