Hi everyone

Here is my first road bike after many years of riding mtb's, i thought this would be better for riding to work and weekend rides.

I realise it is a bottom of the range bike (Trek 1.1) but as my riding progresses, and i get more into the sport would it be worth upgrading parts on it as i've been told it is a decent frame.

I was thinking of maybe eventually getting it upto the Trek 1.5 spec, Tiagra gears, carbon forks, better brakes etc.

This is all thoughts for the future, any comments and opinions good or bad are welcome.

Here's some pic's :)

Nice enough bike to start off on.

1 Thing though Your bars seem to have been rotated up quite a long way. Did you do this as a comfort thing so you were not leaning soo far forward on the hoods? If so rotate them back round and flip the handlebar stem over so it raises the whole bars up.

if you use irrational measures to measure me, expect me to behave irrationally to measure up

Thank's for the comment's and the tip on the bars.

The photo's are fresh from when i picked it up, thats how they were from the shop.

I will have a play about with them at the weekend and experiment :)

Had a bit of spare time so taking the advice i've adjusted the bars, feels ok and looks better 8)

I'm now getting a little paranoid however, looking at the seat height does anyone think i've bought a frame thats too small?

It's a 52cm, I tried a 54 but felt too stretched out. I've not had a road bike before and the shop suggested the 52, as they say it's easier to make a smaller frame fit than a frame which is to big :?

Anyway here's another pic with the new and improved bar position

    Better bar position.

I had my saddle forward (like yours) at first but gradually moved it back over time once you get more flexible and comfortable on the hoods and drops.

Further back = more power also..

Might be waiting a while for the weather....I live in Hunwick!

Plenty good cycling round these parts to test her out anyhow!

just thought i'd put an updated pic on here, new additions are -

    Elite bottle cage from ebay
White Scott saddle from my mtb, much more comfy and i also think it looks better than the stock item
White DMR V8's (i know i know  ) from ebay, these are just till i get used to the bike and they're what i'm used to having under my feet so they're staying for now.

I do want to change the tyres next, I want some with either blue or white sides but can't decide.

Any suggestions, or i may even put a poll up.
