I don't really get you, you told me off for saying the climbs weren't "that hard", then you puff your chest out and talk about how massive the climbs are then say they're "wee-wee".

    Do you have schizophrenia!?

Here you go this was just around the corner from Afan, but has nearly 400ft of climbing in 17 miles, doing W2 and Penhydd, like this only has 600ft more, despite being more than twice as long.

That was my point, the trails at Afan don't utilise the biggest hills in the area, so you can calm down, I'm not bad mouthing your local riding!

Go back and read Njee, I have said all the way through the climbs on W2 are wee wee lol. And that his mates should man up :)

But not Afan all over thats just sweeping, and i would say the cliimbing on W2 is bigger than pretty much all you will find on the isle unlike what you implied, Just pointing out mate. No need to go into name calling.

That's a pootle! 187! Before I used my Garmin I've had averages of 195 for 2 hour races.

I CBA to get into a pathetic 'my hills are bigger than yours' argument Waylander, I was using 'Afan' as shorthand for the marked trails, although I know that's not strictly true, and I doubt the Isle of Wight is as flat as you think. But anyway WGAS!

Maybe the fact you can cycle with your heart rate at a constant 190 means you may be slightly fitter and a better climber than some of the people who will be going to Afan with the poster?

Quite possibly, or less fit, but I did say W2 is doable by most in a day, if stopping for lunch, wasn't necessarily drawing a comparison to whether I could do it and my own fitness.

he's right, i have seen so very very unfit people get round W2 witha grin in a day.

They were sweaty and fat but they were grinning :p

I've taken two different groups of inexperienced cyclists to Afan, both groups were knackered after 50% of W2.

Just because it is easy for you don't underestimate how hard it is for someone who isn't specfically used to mountain biking. And it isn't just about general fitness, one guy had summited Kilimanjaro just 3 weeks previous, another has run the Marathon Des Sables, yet they were beat up pretty bad by MTBing and bailed half way round.
Not climber, not sprinter, not rouleur

We nearly had to call out the helicopter when a mate collapsed on the next section after Energy on Whites.

well there are 3 of us now so should be fine - we've lost the least capable so I reckon 44k is doable especially as the top link section is cruisy ish we can take slow and then roast the downs! And the singletrack climb will be post lunch. Best not eat too much or it'll be back up!

Good time had - we ended up as just two going - my mate suffered on the climbs but enjoyed the downs - I loved the downs - forgotten how good they were - Windy Point and Energy were phenomenal, Grave yard excellent.

I need a new rear wheel now. Oh and for the record - hardtails rule. So many FS's around but I am not sure I'd have swapped - had so much fun on my Handjob.
