Wall anchors

Hi

Having been told to remove my bike from the communal hallway of our little block of flats, I need to lock my bike outside. So I've been looking at wall anchors to lock it to.

I'll be fixing it to a brick wall

The following three have come up in my search.

I thought I like this one, the 'Kryptonite Strong Hold Above Ground Lock' best, but it seems to be designed for concrete floors. Would it be ok attached to a brick wall?

These are the other two I've looked at

The 'Abus WBA100C Granit Wall Anchor'

The following Bike Radar review suggests the Kryptonite one may be better, but would this one be better fitted to a brick wall?

Finally this one

Hopefully someone has experience with these and can help me? Or does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers

Neil.

  • I bought and fitted one of these http://www.torc-anchors.com/torc-ground-anchor.php in my bike store to secure my replacement bikes after some scrote broke in and nicked 3 of my bikes in July

They sell them with either a concrete floor or brick wall fitting kit. I bought one of the anchor, chain and padlock combos, http://www.torc-anchors.com/products.php?cat=7

Not cheap, but worth it after having £9k worth of bikes nicked.

Cheers for the reply, sorry to hear about your bikes getting nicked. That anchor looks good, though I'm not sure I need to spend quite that much. My bike cost me £450 second hand, so I'm not trying to secure quite as much as you! Trying to keep the cost down as much as possible relative to how much the bike cost me :)
