Hi,

Third time lucky!

I'm posting a survey on bike cleaning, the respondents to which will be entered in a draw to win £50 cash, the winner will be announced here.

To mods: please check with Nicklouse or Matt Coles before removing as this post has been approved!

The survey is here: http://bikecleaning.questionpro.com

It will take less than 4 minutes to complete. I'm asking the questions as I'm researching launching a new brand of bike cleaner and associated products.

I would really appreciate your help and it would be fantastic to have the communities feedback in potentially bringing a great new product to market and great to have the forum be involved onwards from there.

Thanks!

There would have been - but I was limited by number of questions... It will smell nice by default.

Should have asked about colour too!

    Washing up liquid here.
One important question missing - I wash my bike after I use it, not at specific times.

    Hi,
I could have asked that or given it as an option but I can derive that from other answers - that's why I ask how often you ride - if your answer to how often you clean is the same then I know you clean every time you ride etc. Asking both questions enables me to see the correlation between the two variables.
There were actually a lot more questions I should have asked but I prefer to keep surveys short to reduce drop outs. I would have liked to have asked a lot more demographic questions but felt people might be a lot more reluctant to give that information, age, earnings, location, occupation etc.
    Thanks

  • I still don't get why some of my old Raleigh bike chains lasted 10 years at least without a single clean or lube and NEVER went rusty, yet stuff of today? Well, must be made of cheese.... :?

Ok, why dont we open it to every commercial entity with an interest in selling its' products to cyclists. The companies who pay to advertise on this site would then follow suit and you have no website.

Ok, so as promised I have made the draw and the lucky winner has been emailed - check your email!

I've asked for their permission to announce here before I do as I though it was the right thing to do - I'm sure they'll want to brag though!

So well done to the winner, and thanks to everyone for the great response.

If you didn't complete the survey, you still can, it's just the draw that is now closed. The survey is here and takes less than 3 mins. http://bikecleaning.questionpro.com

Everything is progressing well, moving from sucessful lab test to tests in the wild this weekend, you can follow progress on my blog here, I'll also show some aggregated survey results there which are quite interesting: http://dirtwork.posterous.com/

    And on twitter here: http://twitter.com/DirtWorkUK

Would be great to keep you involved.

    Thanks again
