Hi,

a while ago I was having problems with this unit but I changed the batteries (in the strap and the computer) and it was fine for a while. It only get used sparodically and the last couple of times I have had no HR measurement.

I did drop it quite some time ago but it seemed fine afterwards.

I guess I should try changing the batteries again and if that fails send it back to Polar and see what they can do with It? What do you reckon guys?

If all that fails it will be about December and I'll know what to put at the top of my list for Xmas ;-)

Thanks,

David

mine failed sometime last year. kept getting strange readings. i sent it off to polar who replaced the batteries and gave me a new sensor (it was starting to corrode a bit). works like a dream still, despite the abuse i've given it!

I've had a lot of problems with my Polar HRM and it is usually the chest strap. If you have the type where the chest transmitter unpops from the strap then a new strap can be had for about a tenner on eBay. It seems that the connection just gets poorer until it cannot detect my heartbeat, the clue this is happening is when it will not work immediately but if I go out for a ride it kicks in once I work up a bit of a sweat.

I always run the chest contact area under water before wearing as per the instructions.
