seat post snapped ?

i,ve had a seat post snap twice now, i just wondered how common a problem this is and were you able to get back full control of the bike before landing on the floor ..?? your stories please ..

Not common but it happens. Need more info. Did both posts break at the same spot? What brand seatpost? CF, Alu, Titanium? How much post is protruding from the seatube? How much do you weigh? Did the post itself break and where (at the frame clamp, middle of tube, etc.), or did the saddle clamp break off?
