No, not on Follow The Dog or Chase the Monkey..... but in my garden!

I finished my Spesh Enduro build this morning so set up the sag and took it out in my garden to test my gear configuration. Our little one wanted a little 'jump' so I made her one to just ride over.

I made sure no-one was looking [neighbours] and decided to give it some beans [god knows why!] admitedly I didnt have a helmet or my usual stuff on but I was in my garden for gods sake!

She took a photo of me doing the jump, but what it doent show you was me landing off angle and smashing straight into my fence twisting my knee!!!!

I can barely walk, my knee has seized up! If anyone asks me in work why I am hobbling like someone who has broken their leg I will have to tell them that I did it on the FOD trail! Im in my 30's - I would have thought I would have learned by now! haha!

there are few things in the world worse than injuring yourself in a benine situation, hope the leg heals. gorgeous bike by the way.
  • Just be glad noone other than your family was watching!

Had a few of those injuries as well, sometimes I actually prefer to tell the true story for the sheer stupidity factor and something to laugh about.

another great example of a man not growing up! good work

I'm trying to think what went wrong. Did you walk the jump first?

Thanks I have had all of the business asking why I have been walking like I have had a toilet accident and were totally shocked when I said I did it MTBing [senior management are not supposed to do crazy things other than wine tasting and watching football!].

Lets hope - the neighbours havent said anything - however I have not seen them since!

Well if a 9 year old could do it then surely I could piss it! - Not!!!! I took it full beans [I have a long garden] hit it square but the brick flicked over pushing my back wheel sideways so I tilted in mid air and couldnt correct it, I landed wonky and my sticky DH fronts dug in and launched me into the fence!

My leg is mending though - good news!

i second that, as "extreme freeride" doesn't seem to be your thing.
  • The bike is fine, I took all the impact!

That jump is minature compare to what I am used to on the chase - goes to show easily done!

I certainly won't be at Whistler next year!
