I got passed by loads of people on Sunday but so what? I have nothing to prove, end of season and I'll probably never see them in a "proper" race eh?

Was out the other day and noticed a 6 year old on a 3-wheeler on the pavement. I put in a herculean effort to close the gap, reeled him in and blasted past. He didn't stand a chance. I was buzzin all day at my athletic prowess...

Get you back in ten years, grandpa.

What is so funny about people wanting to ride differently to you? Are you jealous that they can put out a bigger effort than you?

If I want to overtake someone I won't sit behind them and think best not overtake he won't like it, I don't give a crap, if I want to go past and if I was to push on hard I will, it's not causing me or that person a problem.

After I left you on Sunday I passed a bloke near Marthall who then decided to sit on my wheel for the next 2 miles. I thought "cheeky bastard" so freewheeled until he got the message and went passed me, i think i got down to 10mph before he did! He then took off down the road "trying" to lose me i expect, i hadn't even bothered chasing him!

It amused me but what was he playing at? He seemed happy to pootle along until i went passed him!

  • It's not overtaking someone who is riding slower than you that's the issue. That's perfectly fine. It's because some talk as if they have just out sprinted Mark Cavendish to the line on Le Tour. The fact of the matter is that the person you have passed is NOT racing you, therefore there is no competition. You can't 'beat' someone if they are not racing you.

  • It's that little devil on your shoulder that tells you to increase the power every time you see another cyclist ahead. (even if it is an old geezer in pressed trousers) Just can't help that competitive edge taking over.
2 Wheels or not 2 wheels..That is not in question.
