im buying a bionicon edison frameset with upgraded fork and shock:

Edison_comp.jpg

im going to fit the parts from the gt onto it but im thinking, should i fit the parts from the enduro onto it and re coup some of the cost of the new frameset by selling the enduro frame and fork.

reason being that the edison and enduro have the same travel and are designed for the same thing so i think i will end up riding the edison instead of the enduro which might make it redundant

however

i love my enduro and wonder if i should keep it even if i dont ride it very much after buying the edison.

basicly,

do i use the GT parts meaning i need to pay for the edison but leaving me with the stumpy, the enduro and the edison (plus the old stumpy but that is for the wife these days)

or

do i use the enduro parts meaning i can sell the bits to pay for the edison which leaves me with the edison, the stumpy (s) and the gt which i dont ride all that much.

i had a golden willow, the system is super dooper.

getting parts for the mis the same as getting pasrts for any other bike, you go to a shop.

as for the suspension, if i need anything for it, i email a nice man who sends it in the post for free. or thats how it worked when i wanted some new air hose and some rear pivot bearings.
  • How much for the Enduro frame and obvious then? Think it'd look pretty RE built up with the bits off my Mmmbop.

You've not got a good PM in you Because it's in your inbox
  • Break the enduro up, it's a good bike, but no point having 2 of the same type of bikes.

they are bump stops as the fork turns 180 degrees, unlike other double crown forks.

im all stuck as to what to do, i might even consider getting rid of the stumpy frame and fork and building he edison with those parts as it gets ridden less and less these days as i prefer the enduro even for dead tame stuff.

I say ditch the GT. You know you're never really going to like the GT anyway.
Keep the enduro, or you will be sat there a year from now thining about it the same way you're thinking of the golden willow now.

So you are going to buy a Bionicon, then not make any use of the shocks / forks...

Isn't that exactly WHY people buy them, or am I missing something here.... :lol:

I'm sorry, but I'm still not sure I understand.

Isn't the whole concept behind the Bionicon range the adjustable geometry using their specialist shocks and forks? Or am I completely way off the mark here...?

I was just pointing out to Yeehaa that it was mentioned that the fork and shock were going to be changed, which he didn't seem to realise.

the forks and shocks are the upgraded bioniocon ones. the fork will have the rebound cart fitted and the rear is the pva version of the shock.

Ahhh, so you will have the fancy equipment on it afterall!

I thought you wanted to buy the frame, then put on off-the-shelf Fox / RS / Manitou stuff on it...

    Makes more sense now!

i think i am going to use the GT to finance the build as the gt was always deisgned to be replaced with something good all along.

pictures will be up as soon as the bike is built, should be wednesday night if i havent got a night shift.
