Stumpy stability

I have built up an 05 stumpy and all parts upgraded. This includes Talas 140 upfront. I am getting a new Horst link that converts the 120 rear to 150mm.

has any one else done this?

will it be too much travel on the rear and upset the stability/bias (shock is the fox triad)

thanks,

  • If stability is a problem, get some stabilisers.

Sounds like you built up the wrong bike, really.

yeah there is a bit of that, although they come with 140mm front and I think its 130 at the rear now, I dont think the tech was available in that price range then. Im not after a down hill just an all mountain type.

Stability isnt a problem now just wondered if it would be with 30mm extra?

Unofficially speaking 05 Stumpys are fine with 140mm up front, never tried extending the rear travel with a different linkage. I was going to but it doesn't raise the BB enough to warrant the bother.
