Just watched Fifth Gear that now has Ben Collins, the last Stig off Top Gear. He should have lept his mouth shut and his helmet on because he's so boring to listen to. I hope his book sells well because his TV career won't be going far.

Can't see what all the fuss is, plenty people have known who he is before the 'unmasking' ,he's been on other car progs as himself thrashing cars whilst being the stig for top gear...eg Vroom Vroom on Sky1, although it only lasted 2 series...From 2006..

Nothing against him but as a presenter utter rubbish as the mysterious driver excellent, people should stick to what they are good at.
  • IMO Top Gear will always be a far better show than 5th Gear, employing "The Stig" is quite lame really.

    +cucumber.
5th gear always had the really crap feeling of being the retarded reject brother of Top Gear. I mean even the name is a cheap rip off of the show. And then the stig becomes "unmasked" and is now working for 5th gear. Their trying way to hard if you ask me.

He hardly ever ventures down the hill, so we don't need to worry about him :)

He is not the Stig, he is just a bloke who claims to have been the Stig.....

We all know what The Stig looks like, and that The Stig doesn't have a face- he has a direct interface with cars!

Ah so Ben Collins WAS the stig?
It always seemed to e be worded, that he revealed whothe stig was, but not that it was actually himself, if you read between the lines on the BBC's responses at the time.

People who have the money. Even I'd get a vw/Audi with a DSG box if I could afford it. E320 cdi with amg box and blower tweaks is friggin amazing.

What's eugh about a car you can force into reverse and t turn? I can do the same in a Range Rover. Just can't afford one.

That must come in handy. I've often thought that what I needed was a car I could force into reverse.

what does that mean? you can slam into reverse whilst still driving and the wheels will spin backwards to slow you done until your start going backwards?

I have no idea what he means, but it certainly sounds useful, doesn't it?

Auto is for people who don't enjoy driving.

I don't mind a bit sequential paddle shitering on DSG. But fully auto is for people who are so uncordinated that they cant push there left foot down lol
