Hi dudes,
After two fairly normal offs i.e. not crashing into a solid brick wall! My Easton EA70 90mm stem has cracked from front to rear completely through!
Has anyone experienced this before and can anyone direct me to the manufacturer, because I feel this could be classed as a catastrophic failure.
Any ideas???
Tim

you just admitted to crashing it twice..???
I suspect the manufacturer may be called 'Easton' - try google...0 -
Is there such a thing as a 'normal off'
If having an 'off' was the norm I'd start asking myself some serious questions!!
Maybe I should ask Shimano for a new front DA7900 brake caliper after that time I wasn't concentrating on a fast descent in a pace line and missed a corner and ended up in a meadow?
Or maybe I should have asked BMW to replace my front left wing when I spun on some black ice and clipped the armco?
You've broke it mate. Buy a new one and learn to stay upright!0 -
Hey Dude, you're an MTBer coooool.
On a Road Bike , you aint supposed to crash and burn. It isnt cool.My pen won't write on the screen0 -

All the above responses still apply mate. You banged it. Buy a new one and save yourself hassle chasing a FOC replacement. Life's too short.Ben

What a nice MTB'er0 -
I had this happen to a hope stem, I sent it back and they sent me a brand spanking new one a few days later. Top guys there! I even told them that I'd crashed it! It will depend on Eastons replacement policy as to whether they will give you another one, I would however recommend not tellling them you crashed it and that "you notived a crack had appeared when cleaning the bike after a ride"
ps. Im both a mtber and a road rider (although road bike has been put to bed for winter now)0 -

You're expecting different advice from MB's because...?"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0
