I've bought a set of wheels with Miche hubs here, that have a Miche specific splined freehub. CRC have a cassette to fit this here , but it has no lockring on it. The Miche website says it requires a 30.5x1 lockring see here , which appears to be same as Shimano splined Miche cassettes require - does this mean I can use any Shimano compatible lockrings such as this ?[/url]

IME Shimano splined = Shimano lockring. Things get more complicated with Campagnolo as there's a number of sizes
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I measured a Shimano lockring at 30.47mm and the pitch looks about right (mislaid pitch gauge). This was a used ring so it will, in all probability, fit. To be absolutely sure, you could locate a Miche lockring for a Miche Shimano fit hub, knowing that it is listed as being the same diameter and pitch as Miche's own.

Thank you for going to the effort of getting your callipers out. Kind of confirmed my suspicions. As the cassette s a bargain price o think I will try it with a token lockring - can't find a miche 30.5x1 lockring any where.

Weejie54, the items arrrived and all fitted together just fine - the Shimano compatible lock rings work with Miche splined freehubs and cassettes.

    Kind regards

That's good James. It makes you wonder why Miche don't supply the ring with the cassette or suggest using a Shimano model ring!

I have a Miche lockring (for Campagnolo) and it seems to be a bit soft. My Cobra cassette tool doesn't fit it very well (especially when compared with Campagnolo ones).
