Here's a link to an interesting newspaper article - and video - about riding in Italy...

It's an uphill climb to the bottom

  • Does look great - cant wait now till next year and to get out to some summer roads back in Italy
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

There's a good write up on retrobike (I'm biased 'cos I'm in it):

Probably one of the best bike trips in terms of atmosphere, enjoyment and scenery - 205km on a 1980s bike is not to be underestimated - inspired choice of riding 32mm file-tread CX tubs meant plenty of grip and comfort on pretty rough roads.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Love that part of Italy and have this on my 'bucket list' to complete. Doing the Raid Pyrenean in 2011 so would really like to put this down for 2012 - at least I wouldnt have a problem getting my wife to come along to this one

Need to start looking for a suitable bike now then...

+1 for bucket list entry. Darren over at Spinwell took some fantastic snaps of L'eroica
