Enlighten me.. buying a Road Bike with $1400

I was waiting to get Cannondale CAAD10, since everyone was so hype and saying good things about how this bike will be as light and as great performing as other relatively more expensive full-carbon bikes.

Is this true, and should i wait for CAAD10 and just buy it anew?

or should i look around some local bike shops and look for better deals at $1400?
