On this mornings smoke break, I clock a particularly crappy womens hybrid locked up in an public "hoop" bike rack with the keys still in the lock.
Struck by a sudden (and unfamiliar) rush of altruism, and against the clock, i did a quick "FYI" of the immediate businesses with no success.
I then informed my own organisations security (I work for the Jobcentre) who took the keys, informed the local CCTV centre and left a note on the bike.
Thought little of it through the day (too busy)
So. come 5, and i leave the building to get my bike (which, incidentially, is locked is our own private bike shed) only to be told by security the identity of the forgetful cyclist.....
A "manager" who also works for the jobcentre, in my department, and who has a certain reputation for punching above her weight (workwise).
*shrugs shoulders*
This brotherhood does, sometimes, move in mysterious ways.......
