.... people who sit in thier cars waiting for the fuel pump to become available on the correct side of the car.

then want really gets me mad is ....

I go in a park up on the 'wrong' side and surprise them by showing them that the fuel pipe is perfectly long enought to go round car. Fill up, pay and walk back to my car with them STILL waiting and they give me a massive dirty look as if I have done something wrong.....

:x

rant over, feel better for getting that off my chest

    Doesn't annoy me.

I just chuckle at their stupidity.

Or worse, the ones that once they have picked a lane won't change even when a lane comes free on the "right" side :?
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

I have to say, I wait.

I'm not dragging some scabby, solid "dragged in the crap" fuel hose over the bootlid / roof of my car and even if it did I'm not sure it would be long enough.

I'll leave the right hand side of the pump to those with japanese or british cars and just wait my turn.

i won't give you a foul look tho!

Doesn't annoy me either. In fact, it amuses me, these people in such a hurry, watching them struggle to make the pump reach the other side of their car. Sometimes it does, occassionally it doesn't. You look really stupid when it doesn't.

Annoys me when someone forces the hose over to the wrong side and then ends up leaking fuel all over the place

Gets me the amount of people that cannot seem to operate these 'pay at pump' machines.

Went to Asda last night to fill up. Massive queue but the 2 pumps that are' pay at pump' both empty.Surely not all of them were paying with cash?

I love pay at pump for that reason, you dont have to queue up to get to a pump then queue up again to be asked if you want 3 for a £1 chocolate bar offers... vat reciept ? .... do you have a points card ?

and by the way you dont have to drag the hose over the roof, just make sure you park forward enough and the hose will easily reach round

and thank you for giving me a dirty look !

I reckon people don't trust them. You know how averse the British are to change...

I always use pay at the pump (saves the embarassment of my card being declined at the till  ). I just wish they had it at the local Tesco Express as you end up waiting for some twunt to do their weekly shop before paying and moving their car :x

Maybe a bit of 'sheep' mentality. Just like when you are waiting to get out of the multi-storey car park and the 6 cars in front of you are all waiting to go through the same barrier, yet the lane/barrier on the left is empty. Why is no-one else using it? Quite funny the number of cars who will follow you once they've seen you go through.

I wait until the little man comes to ask how much fuel you want - then he puts it in and you give him the cash - all from your car seat. Sometime I get out to stretch my legs whist he is filling, but only on cooler days

My van is too high. I have to wait. Even if I can get the hose round the back, I can't see the pump gauge.
  • wait - always wait - if you must beat the net man to the pump take a chill pill, chances are thats how they drive - you'll live longer

plus I agree, there is no way I would drag a dirty, gritty tube of rubber acroos the paintwork

then again - why doesnt the tube come from an arm above that was central on the car - then you could fill either side..... no theres an idea
  • or we could scrap cars and enjoy cycling more

If you're worried about a dirty hose on the car then sell the car, get a cheaper one and spend the change on another bike!

My brand new trek 1.5 £720

8 year old Ford Ka with a big bodywork repair, filler and primer round the petrol cap. Can't be worth more than £500

Bike worth more than car - perfect! :)

waiting for the pump does not bother me , and as with the van driver, I would struggle to see the gauge.
What does annoy me is the person doing the weekly shop and the worst of all is the faffers. you know the people who faff,
. carry out pre flight check and walk aroubnd car
    . adjust mirrors
    put seat belt on
    . adjust mirrors again
. move rearview mirror to check make-up / eyebrows
    . fluff / groom hair
    . re do mirrors again
    . pull away
    . put car in gear
    . pull away
    . take hand brake off
    . pull away
. stop at exit and re-check mirror

Sorry but I think I must get stuck behind these people every time regardless of which side I try to fill up.

  • If that annoys you I can't imagine it takes much to make you really mad.

Hardly worth losing sleep over, let alone bothering to write about it.

Now, seeing a Black Cad driver on his mobile phone whilst crossing a junction this morning - thats worth getting annoyed about.
